RAILWAYS ENGINEERING OFFICE CLASS 1 FOR THE CENTRAL JAVA REGION

The Railways Engineering Office  Class 1  for the Central Java Region is a Technical Implementation Unit within the Ministry of Transportation under and responsible to the Director-General of Railways.

Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation No. PM 63 of 2014 the Railways Engineering Office Class 1 for the Central Java Region has the task of carrying out improvement and supervision of infrastructure, as well as supervision of the implementation of facilities, traffic, transportation, and railways safety.

In carrying out its duties, the Railways Engineering Office Class 1 for the Central Java Region carries out the following functions:

  1. Improvement of railways infrastructure
  2. Supervision of the implementation of railways infrastructure
  3. Supervision of the operation of facilities, traffic and rail transportation
  4. Supervision of traffic safety and rail transport
  5. Monitoring the feasibility of railway infrastructure and facilities
  6. Prevention and prosecution of violations of laws and regulations in the railways sector
  7. Analysis and handling of accidents in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations
  8. Management of administration, internal affairs, personnel, financial, legal, and public relations affairs

  1. Improving the safety of railway operations by encouraging the involvement of the Regional Government and elements of the community in order to achieve zero accident
  2. Improving the quality and professionalism of human resources (HR) in the railway sector
  3. Increasing the role of local governments in the implementation of urban railways as public transportation.
  4. Integrating rail services with other transportation modes by building accessibility to transportation nodes, industrial areas and tourism areas.
  5. Encouraging the re-activation of non-operational railway lines by involving local governments in order to increase mobility and the regional economy.
  6. Improving the accessibility  of the community to rail services through public service obligations and pioneering mechanisms
