BTP Padang and KAI Divre II West Sumatra Collaborate on Station Management and Maintenance at BIM

Padang - Railway stations are an important part of the railway transport system, which serves as the primary mode of transport for many people. Therefore, regular maintenance and proper management are essential to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers.

As the railway regulator under the Directorate General of Railways, Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, the Class II Railway Technical Office in Padang is responsible for carrying out these tasks. The operator, PT KAI (Persero) Division II West Sumatra, also plays an important role in station management.

The Minangkabau International Airport Station, which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in 2018, requires regular maintenance to ensure the best service for the public. Therefore, cooperation between the relevant authorities is necessary to ensure the safety and comfort of train passengers.

"We need to address all aspects, starting from cleanliness, safety, and security, maintenance of existing facilities, accessibility management, and innovation, to improve the efficiency of maintenance at BIM stations," said BTP Padang Head Hendrialdi in his statement.

He emphasized that while this is not an easy task, it is essential to the success of West Sumatra's rail transportation system.

"A railway station is more than just a place for passengers to arrive and depart; it is also a facility that affects their comfort, safety, and convenience. As a result, it must be managed and maintained with great care and responsibility, in accordance with the applicable regulations," stated the head of BTP Padang.
