DJKA and Local Government’s Commitment to Advancing Railway Infrastructure in West Sumatra

Padang - As an extension of the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA), Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, the Padang Class II Railway Engineering Centre (BTP Padang) is committed to the continuous improvement of the railway infrastructure in West Sumatra. To this end, cooperation with local governments is essential and must always be synergized to create an efficient, safe, comfortable, and technologically advanced transport system.

This commitment was demonstrated at a meeting attended by key decision-makers from the DJKA team, including the Director of Railway Infrastructure, the Sub-Director of Railways and Railway Works for Region II, the Acting Governor of West Sumatra, Audy Joinaldy, the Head of PT KAI (Persero) Divre II Sumbar as railway operator, and investors interested in contributing to the development of railway infrastructure and facilities in West Sumatra.

The meeting, held at the Governor's Palace in West Sumatra, focused on discussing plans to develop railway infrastructure to improve connectivity between regions. Investors also presented potential opportunities in the development of railway infrastructure in West Sumatra.

"BTP Padang has many short, medium, and long-term plans, all of which will certainly require the support of various parties, as none of this will come to fruition without the cooperation of all parties," said the head of BTP Padang in his statement.

It is hoped that these meetings will result in positive actions for the development of the railway sector in West Sumatra.
