(Jakarta 14/6) - As part of the Manggarai - Cikarang Double-Double Track (DDT) Mega Project, Matraman Station will conduct an operational trial for boarding and disembarking of the passengers on Thursday (16/6). The station, which was built by the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation in 2016, serves KRL trips across Kampung Bandan - Bekasi / Cikarang. On his occasion in Jakarta on Tuesday (14/6) Head of the Class I Railway Engineering Center for the Jakarta - Banten Region, Rode Paulus explained that various technical preparations had been carried out, as well as the completeness of service and security facilities that were ready to be used to support the convenience and comfort of KRL users inside the station. "Starting this Thursday, we will operate the Matraman Station, for tone week ahead we will carry out operational trials of boarding and disembarking the passengers from and to Matraman Station," said Rode.

"We have carried out a series of preparations for the operation of the Matraman Station. At the beginning of June, we collaborated with a number of relevant stakeholders including PT. KAI Commuter, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to PT. Transjakarta has carried out joint inspections to ensure that all facilities inside the station can be utilized and functioned properly, from escalators, elevators, toilets, fire extinguishers (APAR) to fire alarm systems and CCTV can also be used to ensure station safety. A few days later, we continued with the inspection of Minimum Service Standards (SPM) by the Directorate of Railway Traffic and Transportation in accordance with the mandate of the Minister of Transportation Regulation Number PM 68 of 2019 concerning Minimum Service Standards with good inspection results," explained Rode.

Rode also said that Matraman Station is equipped with other facilities such as a Lost and Found, nursery room, health post, prayer room, facilities for disabled passenger and adequate parking areas. "Matraman Station is in a very strategic location, located between Manggarai and Jatinegara Transit Stations, so that later we hope that the presence of Matraman Station can facilitate the accessibility of the surrounding community who previously had to go to Manggarai or Jatinegara Stations to be able to use the KRL, now people can go directly to Matraman Station to travel by KRL,” Rode added.

With its strategic location, Matraman Station has the potential to increase mobility and accessibility, especially for KRL customers around the Matraman, Kampung Melayu, Jatinegara and Manggarai areas. Access to Matraman Station is directly connected to Jalan Raya Matraman which is integrated with the Transjakarta bus stop corridor 5. “As a new station, of course we will intensively do  monitoring to minimize problems that arise, the access to transfer passengers in the station that we provide is like stairs, elevators, and escalators will always be our concern, for that we strive for all facilities in the station to function properly and can be used optimally," Rode concluded.
