The Minister of Transportation, Mr. Budi Karya Sumadi, rides the first air-conditioned Oplet in Palembang on Saturday (11/06). This activity is a series events of the "New Oplet" launching for the City of Palembang. This is expressed by the Governor of South Sumatra, Mr. Herman Deru. "To make it familiar to the public, it is called a new oplet. This new oplet becomes the pride of the people of South Sumatra".

With these feeders, the government hopes thatpeople, especially the citizen ofPalembang, will turn in using public transportation as their daily transportation.

The Minister of Transportation explained that efforts to increase public interest in mass transportation could not be carried out by the government alone. It takes a good Penta helix collaboration between the central and local governments, academics, business people, the community, and the media.

"Therefore, today in Palembang,  with the Governor, Mayor, and a number of community leaders from South Sumatra, I want to convey a message more broadly and massively to the people of Palembang, to jointly take advantage of the public transportation that has been provided," he said.

The city of Palembang will be an example or role model of complete and integrated transportation in Indonesia because it has interconnected public transportation, ranging from BRT, LRT, and public transportation to river transportation.
