SOUTH SUMATRA LIGHT RAIL MANAGEMENT CENTER (BPKARSS) JOINS INTER-AGENCY BADMINTON COMPETITION

In order to welcome the commemoration of independence on 17 August 2023, the South Sumatra Class II Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD) organized a badminton competition between institutions. The activity took place from August 14-16 at the Zo Badminton Badminton Court. There are two matches in the competition. They were the men's double and the women's double. 

For the men's double, there were 12 teams that participated. Among others, from Palembang Polytechnic, River Basin Center (BBWS), Alang-Alang Lebar Terminal, BPTD Tanjung Api-Api, BPTD South Sumatra, Palembang Transportation Agency, Angkasa Pura II, to South Sumatra Light Railway Management Center (BPKARSS). 

Meanwhile, in the women's double there are 12 team from the same institution. They appeared on three different courts.

In the game, the participants looked excited. As felt by Wella Sitanggang. The public relations officer from Terminal Alang-Alang Lebar made it to the semifinals. "It was quite draining. The opponents are strong," said the woman from North Sumatra. Wella and her partner had to stop in the semifinals after being defeated by the Palembang Transportation Agency's female partner. Despite losing, she said she was satisfied. In addition to honing her skills, Wella felt that the activity was a form of strengthening relationships from across agencies. "I know new people. I even met friends from my neighborhood," she said, smiling. 

On the other hand, chairman of the event committee M. Raken Al Zuhra explained that the activity was part of upholding sportsmanship and increasing brotherhood between agencies. "We are quite happy to see the enthusiasm of our friends. It seems that winning is just a bonus," he explained. 

Zuhra explained, the match was held for two days. The first preliminary round was held on 14 August 2023, and yesterday 15 August 2023 for the semifinals and finals. There are three champions up for grabs in each number. "The prize giving will be done on 16 August 2023. At the same time to welcome the Independence day," he said. 

He expects that the activity will continue until next year. Thus, the solidarity between institutions increases.
