SOUTH SUMATRA RAILWAY MANAGEMENT CENTER BROUGHT BARONGSAI TO LRT STATION TO ENTERTAIN PASSENGERS

The government has designated Monday 23 January 2023, as a national holiday to celebrate the Chinese New Year 2574 Kongzili. The South Sumatra Light Railway Management Center (BPKARSS) organized a barongsai event at the South Sumatra LRT Station and train on the holiday to support and entertain South Sumatra LRT passengers. At 10 a.m., the lion dance show started at Ampera LRT Station. The barongsai took place within the train from DJKA station to Airport station.

BPKARSS will offer additional entertainment activities for committed South Sumatra LRT passengers. The South Sumatra LRT now has 8.000 daily customers, and on holidays like today, it may exceed 12.000 people. South Sumatra LRT is Indonesia's first LRT train. All destinations have a 5 thousand rupiah tariff, except to and from the airport station, which has a 10 thousand rupiah tariff. LRT is still quite inexpensive in comparison to other modes of transportation. Aside from that, the South Sumatra LRT provides comfortable, safe, and quick transit.

Furthermore, BPARSS continues making effort to deliver the best service feasible to South Sumatra LRT consumers. Not only are such activities being organized, but many parties are also collaborating to give special discounts to South Sumatra LRT card holders. Discounts on coffee purchases at coffee shops and meatballs near South Sumatra LRT stations, for example.
