BAPPENAS RI VISITS SOUTH SUMATRA LRT

(Palembang 24/9)- Director of Bilateral Funding Cooperation, Mr. Kurniawan Ariadi, representing the Indonesian National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) made a working visit to the LRT South Sumatra on Tuesday (21/9) in preparation and development of the MCC Grant Compact-2 program. On this occasion, the arrival of the Bappenas RI delegation was welcomed by Mr. Isyul Bahri, as Head of Improvement and Maintenance of Advice and Infrastructure of the South Sumatra Light Railways Management Office and Mr. Eben Torsa Tongan S, as Head of Utilization of Facilities and Infrastructure of the South Sumatra Light Railways Management Office.

The visit of Bappenas RI, began with a visit to the South Sumatra LRT Station area, then continued by visiting the OCC work area, the Depot and the South Sumatra Light Railways Management Office. In this meeting, Bappenas RI, Mr. Kurniawan Ariadi, explained the many opportunities or potential for MCC Grant support for the development of the South Sumatra LRT. These include Integration into the urban Mobility plan, Multimodal transport planning (policies and investment plans), study or development of a TOD-based business plan, Transaction and Investment Support for TOD activities, and Green Energy or Energy Efficiency Investment. “There is a lot of business potential that can be developed in and around LRT stations.” He said after seeing the area of ??the station, depot, workshop and OCC LRT South Sumatra.
