The South Sumatra Light Railway Management Center (BPKARSS) is committed to continue educating the younger generation about public transportation. On Thursday, 31 August 2023, BPKARSS paid a visit to SDN 195 Palembang which was attended by 90 students from grades 2 and 3.

The activity began with an introduction between the BPKARSS Public Relations team and the students of SDN 195 Palembang. After that, the PR team gave an explanation regarding various modes of transportation, ranging from land, air, sea, and train modes. The students were very enthusiastic when listening to the presentation and actively answered questions submitted by the BPKARS Public Relations team.

Class 3A teacher, Dwi Purnami, expressed the importance of this activity. This is a form of education that needs to be carried out continuously. The children became more knowledgeable about various types of public transportation, including Light Rail Transit (LRT). Many of them were interested when given an explanation about LRT. Awareness of using public transportation needs to be instilled from an early age," said Dwi Purnami.

This socialization activity aims to provide an understanding to the younger generation about the importance of using public transportation, sustainable concepts, and maintaining safety while traveling. Through direct interaction with the students of SDN 195 Palembang, BPKARSS hopes to increase their awareness of transportation issues and contribute to creating a society that is more concerned about the environment and safe transportation.

In addition, this activity also gave the students an overview of various jobs and professions related to the transportation industry, opening their minds to future career opportunities. BPKARSS is committed to continue supporting the education and development of the younger generation in South Sumatra with the similar activities.
