Proving that the South Sumatra LRT is Disability-Friendly, the Netra Mandiri Palembang Foundation Visits the South Sumatra LRT

(Palembang 26/9) - Since operating in 2018, the South Sumatra LRT has been claimed as a transportation that can meet the needs of all levels of society. Including those with special needs. The South Sumatra LRT is expected to be the main transportation for Palembang City residents in their activities. To prove that the South Sumatra LRT is "friendly" to people with disabilities, Saturday (25/9) the Netra Palembang Foundation brought its members to ride the South Sumatra LRT and tour the facilities at the South Sumatra LRT station. Such as elevators, medical rooms, guiding blocks to guide the path of blind passengers, toilets for the disabled, as well as priority seats on platforms and on trains and officers at stations who are prepared to stand guard to help people with disabilities to get on and off the train.

In this activity, Safta (51), who represented the Netra Mandiri Foundation in Palembang, thanked the South Sumatra LRT for being one of the friendly public transportation for people with disabilities. "Thank you for the LRT Sumsel, so that my friends and I can enjoy the LRT." Furthermore, Indah (29), a staff of the Section for Facilities and Infrastructure Utilization of the South Sumatra Light Railways Management Office, said that the South Sumatra LRT will continue to strive to become the main transportation in the city of Palembang that can be enjoyed by all levels of Palembang society.
