SUPPORTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF HERD IMMUNITY PROGRAM IN INDONESIA, SOUTH SUMATERA LIGHT TRAIN MANAGEMENT CENTER CONDUCT MASS VACCINATIONS AT LRT STATION

PALEMBANG - In order to support the government's program to create herd immunity or communal immunity, the Directorate General of Railways through the South Sumatra Light Railway Management Center together with the South Sumatra Regional Police and PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) held a Mass Vaccination event which was opened to the general public in the Palembang City Area. This activity was held for 5 (five) consecutive days starting from 9 to 13 November 2021 at the Jakabaring LRT Station,

Aditya Yunianto, as the Daily Executive (Lakhar) of the South Sumatra Light Railroad Management Center on his opportunity when attending this event said that people who will take part in the vaccine program can register in advance with two registration methods. Registration in the first way can be done by registering online through the link provided, while the other registration method is that prospective vaccination participants can register directly at the vaccination location provided that they bring their ID card or the first vaccine letter. This mass vaccination program targets 1500 participants, with a quota of 300 vaccines per day. The public can participate in the 1st or 2nd dose of vaccination with Sinovac and Astrazeneca vaccines. "We have prepared a vaccine quota for 300 participants per day. This is situational in nature, if later it turns out that more people are arriving and exceeding the available quota, then of course we will increase the quota.” Aditya said.

Aditya explained that the mass vaccination program carried out at the Jakabaring LRT Station was a form of support from the South Sumatra Light Railroad Management Center for the government's programs and strategies in breaking the chain of transmission of Covid-19 while creating herd immunity in the Palembang City area. “We hope that all people from all walks of life can participate and are not afraid to participate in the vaccination program that we organize at the South Sumatra LRT Station. We carry out this mass vaccination event as a form of our commitment to provide excellent service to the community as users of transportation services," said Aditya.

Deni (23), one of the participants in the first dose of vaccination, expressed his appreciation to the South Sumatra Light Railroad Management Center for holding this vaccination activity. “I am very grateful to the South Sumatra Light Rail Management Center for facilitating this mass vaccination activity. Hopefully with this activity, it will reduce the number of Covid-19 cases in Palembang City and its surroundings, there will be no more PPKM and I also want to invite other people not to be afraid to be vaccinated.” he added.
