As Eid holiday approaches, passengers expect improved service on South Sumatra LRT

Light Rail Transit (LRT) South Sumatra continues to be an attraction for passengers and the people of Palembang. Especially during the Eid holidays, many travelers and residents choose LRT as their mode of transportation. Observed on H-7 of Eid al-Fitr 2024, many travelers were seen at each station.

South Sumatra LRT has also opened a Lebaran transportation post from Wednesday, 3 April 2024. The post can facilitate passengers in knowing travel information and health checks. Later, the officers will provide services and help to facilitate passengers in using the LRT.

In addition to the convenience of passengers during the Eid holiday, LRT plans to add travel time to minimize the surge in Lebaran transportation passengers. According to passengers, there has been a spike in previous years. As stated by Pipit, a student of Sriwijaya University (UNSRI) that there is a density of passengers, so there is a need for additional fleets and train operating hours.

According to her, she is very satisfied every time she uses the LRT train because the staff on duty at each station are friendly, and it is hoped that the South Sumatra LRT can continue to be good in terms of service or even improve.

Meanwhile, according to Ahmad, one of the passengers who has been using this LRT transportation mode for 2 years also argues that the reason he likes to use this transportation mode is because there are no obstacles such as traffic jams, on time, and very affordable prices. "It is very comfortable to use this LRT because it is not jammed, on time, and the price is cheap. Hopefully, in the future, the travel time will be increased again so that the arrival time will be even faster," said Ahmad in an interview.

With this input, it is hoped that related parties can make the necessary repairs and improvements to improve the quality of Palembang LRT services and provide a better travel experience for the community.
