In addition to offering special fares, South Sumatra LRT is constantly working to improve service quality through integrated schedules and modern facilities at each station.

“LRT is not just a mode of transportation, but also a solution for the community to reduce travel costs, save time, and support more environmentally friendly mobility,” he added.

The community has welcomed the special fare for seniors, which is set at Rp50.000 per month. This policy allows seniors to enjoy safe and comfortable travel at a low cost.

Benefits of LRT Subscription

With the subscription card, users can enjoy unlimited travel on all routes served by South Sumatra LRT  for one month. This service is ideal for users who travel frequently, whether for business, education, or other reasons.

Furthermore, this subscription program is expected to raise public awareness about the benefits of using public transportation. As more people switch to the LRT, it is hoped that private vehicle use will decrease, reducing traffic congestion and pollution in Palembang.

Positive Response from the Public

Since the subscription card program's launch, the public response has been overwhelmingly positive. Students and university students appreciate the affordable Rp25.000 monthly fare, while the general public and civil servants value the flexibility and efficiency offered by the service.

"The student subscription fare has really helped me. For just Rp25.000, I can travel to campus and other places without worrying about costs,” said Dini, a student at Universitas Sriwijaya.

Similarly, seniors who now benefit from the special fare feel more comfortable using the LRT as their primary mode of transportation.

“With the Rp50.000 fare, I can travel to the market or visit family without relying on private vehicles. It’s really helpful for us seniors,” said Bambang, a Palembang resident who regularly uses the LRT.

A Step Toward Sustainable Transportation

This subscription card program is part of South Sumatra LRT's ongoing commitment to providing sustainable and inclusive public transportation. South Sumatra LRT is expected to become the primary mode of transportation for daily commuting by offering affordable fares to all segments of society.

With the restocking of these subscription cards, Palembang residents have even more reasons to switch to the LRT. South Sumatra LRT, a modern, environmentally friendly, and efficient mode of transportation, strives to be a dependable and affordable public transportation solution for people of all socioeconomic backgrounds.
