On Tuesday, 1 July  2023, the South Sumatra LRT held a simulation of light fire extinguishers (APAR) and hydrants. This session had 40 attendees who were eager to learn about fire management. Personnel from the Palembang City Fire Department served as teachers, delivering information on fire safety.

Participants in this exercise were given three different resources to help them better understand fire management. The first piece of information was on different sorts of fire sources. Participants received in-depth knowledge about the numerous sorts of fire sources that may occur in their surroundings as well as at the South Sumatra LRT Depot.

The second material has something to do with fire extinguisher components. Fire departments personnel described the many types of fire extinguishers that are routinely utilized, such as fire extinguishers and hydrants. Participants were taught how to properly identify and use these tools. This knowledge is considered as critical for providing a prompt and effective reaction in emergency situations.

The final material was the practice of extinguishing fires. Participants were involved in hands-on exercises to extinguish fires using fire extinguishers and hydrants. In this exercise, they were given guidance and detailed explanations on effective techniques to control fires safely. This practical exercise aims to give participants real-life experience so that they can respond well to emergencies.
