NATIONAL RAILWAY MASTER PLAN 2020

With the limited capacity of road services, railways are increasingly showing their competitive advantage. This competitive advantage is inseparable from the development of railway technology making it faster, safer, energy efficient and environmentally friendly. In addition, in terms of transportation capacity, railways remain the most advanced mode.

In line with the bright prospects of railways, it is only natural that the above advantages can be utilized optimally, especially in the implementation of railways can be optimally utilized, especially in the implementation of integrated national transportation. For further implementation of national railways in the future must be actualized as a leading transportation mode, especially as a framework or main cross national transportation that is able to ensure the movement of people and goods throughout Indonesia.

The government in this case, the Directorate General of Railways, Ministry of Transportation realizes the importance of reorganizing the implementation of national railways as a whole to ensure the objectives of the implementation of railways as mandated in Law No. 23 Year 2007 on Railways. This implementation is outlined in the form of the National Railway Master Plan (RIPNas) Year 2030.

RIPNas is prepared by taking into account the national spatial plan and the master plan of the transportation mode network

other transportation modes, which includes: 1) policy direction and the role of national railways in the overall mode of transportation, 2) estimates of the movement of people and goods, 3) plans for the needs of railway infrastructure and facilities, and 4) plans for human resource needs. In addition, this RIPNas also explains the institutional form, technology transfer, industrial development, investment strategy and strengthening funding for the implementation of railways.

Thus the RIPNas book is prepared and dedicated to all Indonesian people in general and all national railway stakeholders in particular.
