TVRI World Broadcasts South Sumatra LRT, Introduces LRT to the Public

TVRI World, one of the most influential television stations in Indonesia, hosted a broadcast at the South Sumatra LRT station to give the public a deeper understanding of the importance of sustainable transportation. A team of 10 TVRI World journalists shot several videos at the Ampera station on Tuesday, 26 March 2024.

Andi Asrul Sani Fauzan, executive producer of TVRI World, said the program was sustainable and took place at several locations in Palembang. "One of them is the South Sumatra LRT. We want to show the public how this public transportation, the pride of South Sumatra, works," he said while supervising the filming.

Through the coverage, TVRI World aims to reach a wider audience. "The content script will be in English. The nature of this coverage is to reach an international audience," he said. The resulting coverage, he said, certainly pays attention to the quality of images, videos, and sound. "We conceive it in the form of a feature. So that people can feel and experience the LRT for themselves," he added.

In TVRI World's coverage, the team of journalists not only focuses on the physical development of LRT construction, but also tries to delve deeper into the social, economic, and environmental impacts of operating this transportation system.

Through interviews with various stakeholders, including government officials, transportation experts, and local communities, TVRI World sought to provide a comprehensive picture of how the LRT will shape travel patterns and lifestyles in South Sumatra.

One of the main focuses of this coverage was to introduce the concept of LRT to the public, who may not fully understand its potential and benefits. By presenting information on the advantages of LRT in terms of efficiency, speed, safety, and travel comfort, TVRI World hopes to stimulate public interest in the use of sustainable public transport.

TVRI World also views this coverage as an opportunity to not only provide accurate information, but also to build awareness of the importance of investing in modern transportation infrastructure for future sustainable development. Through broadcasting, they hope to help build positive momentum for LRT development in South Sumatra and encourage the use of public transportation across Indonesia.

Asrul explained, besides taking shots at Ampera. They also visited several historical sites such as Monumen Perjuangan Rakyat
