RENT TENANTS, LRT SUMSEL INVITES COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

As the manager of the South Sumatra LRT, the South Sumatra Railway Management Center (BPKARSS) continues to increase public interest in riding the LRT. BPKARSS accomplishes this in part by inviting the community to transact/sell at LRT stations. For example, micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

The system in use is rented. The community makes an offer to the manager, which is then followed by the establishment of a booth at each destination station. Different rates are charged for rental. "This price range adjusts the average daily passenger volume at each station." "The more passengers, the higher the price," said M Dian Purwanto, Head of BPKARSS Business Development Unit.

According to data until 30 November 2023, there are currently 13 tenants and 11 partners working with South Sumatra LRT. They are stationed at DJKA, Polresta, Ampera, Cinde, Bumi Sriwijaya, and Asrama Haji. "Asrama Haji has the highest rent." Because there are already over 1200 passengers per day," he explained.

He added that many MSME traders on the South Sumatra LRT were relieved to have received a booth. Apart from the low cost, they claim that the number of visitors is quite large. Especially on weekends like Saturday and Sunday. It must be crowded with buyers.

Yesi Indah Sari is one of these business actors. The woman who lives in Kertapati opened a business at Bumi Sriwijaya. "I have been here for seven months selling." It is quite crowded. Particularly on weekends. Palembang Icon Mall is popular among students and the general public. So they come by here," she explained.

Yesi stated that she can earn Rp. 150 thousand per day. "The lowest is Rp. 100 thousand." "On weekdays," she explained. She sells a variety of snacks, including children's snacks. "When it's crowded. I can get confused about which one to serve first. Alhamdulillah, so far, I am happy to gather with LRT," she said.

Naura Nadrah, a student at SDN 132 Palembang, on the other hand, expressed satisfaction with the presence of MSME tenants in Bumi Sriwijaya. She passed by the LRT several times and got off at Bumi Sriwijaya, taking the time to buy snacks. "I'm usually with my friends. We stop by here (Merah, tenant) while waiting for the LRT," she concluded.
