Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia number 36 of 2022, the Railway Engineering Center has the following duties :
"Carry out improvement, development, management, maintenance, utilization of railway infrastructure and supervision maintenance of facilities, and railroad safety."
