RAILWAYS ENGINEERING OFFICE CLASS I FOR EAST JAVA REGION IMPLEMENTS THE RAMPCHECK OF THE COMPLETENESS TRAIN AND STATION MINIMUM SERVICE STANDARD TOWARD CHRISTMAS 2021 AND NEW YEAR'S 2022

Semarang (1/12) - As the regulator who has the task of supervising the implementation of rail transportation, the Railways Engineering Office Class I  for the Central Java Region carries out a Rampcheck / Inspection of Completeness of Minimum Service Standards (SPM) for Transportation of People by Train at DAOP 4 Semarang, DAOP 5 Purwokerto and DAOP 6 Yogyakarta to prepare for the implementation of Christmas 2021 and New Year's 2022 transportation. Check the completeness of SPM on trains and completeness of SPM on stations operated and managed by PT. KAI DAOP 5 on 10-13 November 2021. At PT. KAI DAOP 4 and DAOP 6 will be held on 17-20 November 2021.

The implementation of the SPM rampcheck is based on the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number PM. 63 of 2019 concerning Minimum Service Standards for Transport of People by Train. This SPM rampcheck activity is carried out to ensure the service of providing train operations by PT. KAI (Persero) as the operator to users of train services can be carried out properly. The technical implementation of the rampcheck is carried out together with the Directorate of Railway Traffic and Transportation, Directorate General of Railways, Ministry of Transportation.

SPM completeness checks are carried out on executive, business, economy non-PSO, and mixed class trains. SPM completeness checks are carried out at large and medium-class stations serving up and down passengers. The scope of checking the completeness of SPM on trains and stations includes the availability of types of services with benchmarks as stipulated in the attachment sheet to the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number PM. 63 of 2019, including the availability of safety, security, and health facilities, restoration, luggage racks, air circulation, security officers, lighting, information boards, seats with appropriate construction, toilets with water requirements, and cleanliness conditions.

Rampcheck for completeness of SPM is an annual routine activity carried out in preparation for the implementation of Christmas and New Year's transportation. It is a manifestation of the government's efforts in this case the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation in carrying out the main tasks and functions in supervising the implementation of rail transportation.
