RAMPCHECK ACTIVITIES OF RAILWAY FACILITIES FOR TRANSPORT PREPARATION FOR CHRISTMAS 2021 AND NEW YEAR 2022

(Semarang 13/12) - Class I Railways Engineering Office for Central Java Region carried out a Rampcheck of Railway Facilities at Daop 4 Semarang, Daop 5 Purwokerto and Daop 6 Yogyakarta. The implementation of the Rampcheck starts from Daop 6 Yogyakarta on November 16-18, 2021, continues at Daop 4 Semarang on November 24-25, 2021 and at Daop 5 Purwokerto on November 29-December 2, 2021.

The implementation of the Rampcheck by the Class I Railways Engineering Office for the Central Java Region is based on an assignment from the Directorate of Railways Rolling Stock at the Ministry of Transportation. As a regulator in the field of rail transportation, the Class I Railways Engineering Office for the Central Java Region has the task and function of supervising the operation of rail transportation.

Inspections were carried out on the railway facilities which included 55 locomotives, 464 locomotives pulled and 38 self-propelled trains operated and maintained by PT. KAI (Persero) Daop 4, Daop 5 and Daop 6.

The inspection on the train includes technical specifications of the facilities, namely the feasibility of the components and construction of the train such as brake blocks, bearing temperatures, safety equipment, air conditioning, and lighting systems. Inspections on locomotives are slightly more than inspections on trains because there are inspection items that must be checked for functions and completeness such as parking brakes, emergency brakes, service brakes, communication equipment, safety systems, deadman devices, reversing equipment, and power regulators.

Rampcheck of railway facilities is one of the routine activities carried out every year prior to the implementation of Christmas and New Year's Transportation, which aims to ensure the feasibility and readiness of railway facilities.
