The Directorate of Railway Rolling Stocks has the task of carrying out the formulation and implementation of policies, drafting norms, standards, procedures and criteria, providing technical guidance and supervision, as well as evaluating and reporting in the field of railway facilities.
 
In carrying out its duties, the Directorate of Railway Rolling Stocks carries out the following functions:
 
  1. Preparation of the formulation of policies in the field of railway facilities which includes development, procurement, supervision, feasibility and certification of facilities, management of state-owned railway facilities, giving signs of feasibility of facilities, testing facilities, as well as inspection and supervision of maintenance of railway facilities;
  2. Preparation of the implementation of policies in the field of railway facilities which include development, procurement, supervision, feasibility and certification of facilities, management of state-owned railway facilities, giving signs of feasibility of facilities, testing facilities, as well as inspection and supervision of maintenance of railway facilities;
  3. Preparation of the preparation of norms, standards, procedures and criteria in the field of railway facilities which includes development, procurement, supervision, feasibility and certification of facilities, management of state-owned railway facilities, giving signs of feasibility of facilities, testing facilities, as well as inspection and supervision of maintenance of railway facilities;
  4. Preparation of the implementation of the provision of technical guidance and supervision in the field of railway facilities which includes development, procurement, supervision, feasibility and certification of facilities, management of state-owned railway facilities, giving signs of feasibility of facilities, testing facilities, as well as inspection and supervision of maintenance of railway facilities;
  5. Preparation of evaluation and reporting in the field of railway facilities which includes development, procurement, supervision, feasibility and certification of facilities, management of state-owned railway facilities, giving signs of feasibility of facilities, testing facilities, as well as inspection and supervision of maintenance of railway facilities; 
  6. Preparation of the implementation of administrative affairs, finance, personnel, management of information and communication technology, and housekeeping of the Directorate.
