Bandung - To support environmental preservation, the Bandung Class I Railway Engineering Center (BTP Bandung) participated in a tree planting exercise hosted by Daop 2 Bandung PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) on Wednesday (10/1). The action, themed "World Planting 1 Million Trees Movement," was carried out symbolically by representatives of invited guests such as the Head of BTP Bandung, EVP Daop 2 Bandung PT KAI (Persero), Head of the Environment Office, and Head of the Bandung City Transportation Office. "There are many benefits that we can get from this million tree planting program, including making the air fresher and healthier and also being able to maintain the population of living things by restoring environmental conditions and also helping to reduce the threat of global warming which has become a national issue related to global warming and lastly helping to reduce the risk of flooding and landslides," stated Chandrawan, the head of BTP Bandung, in his introduction to the event.

"The purpose of this tree planting is to protect the environment, secure the potential of deforested land, and stabilize land that is prone to erosion or landslides." Today, there is a simultaneous planting of trees. Veterinarians plant vetiver, which has deeply ingrained roots that may prevent soil erosion, in landslide-prone locations. Takdir, Head of Daop 2 Bandung, stated, "For instance, at the main railroad crossings in Tasikmalaya, Nagreg, Cipende, and Padalarang Cilame."
