MRT East-West Phase I Line has been Assigned

The community's demand for reliable and comprehensive transport is a challenge amidst the heavy traffic in the Jabodetabek area. The government, through the Directorate General of Railways, is also planning to organise the construction of the East-West Corridor Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Phase 1 to promote national development. 

This development also aims to address issues such as traffic congestion, economic problems caused by increased transportation time and cost, environmental degradation, and the risk of traffic accidents.

The land acquisition for the development of the East-West MRT Phase 1 Phase 1 in the Bekasi City Area will use the direct land acquisition stage method in accordance with Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 2/2012 on Land Acquisition for Development in the Public Interest with Funding by the State Asset Management Agency in accordance with Regulation of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia No. 95/2023 on Amendments to Regulation of the Minister of Finance No. 139/PMK.06/2020 on Procedures for Funding Land Acquisition for National Strategic Projects by the State Asset Management Agency.

In accordance with Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 2/2012 concerning Land Acquisition for Development for Public Interest, Article 26(1) states that "The Governor, together with the agency that needs the land, shall announce the determination of the location of the development for public interest," and Article 26(2) states that "The announcement referred to in paragraph (1) is for the purpose of informing the public that the development for public interest will be carried out at the location.".

Previously, the Directorate General of Railways, through the Directorate of Railway Infrastructure, had conducted a public consultation on land acquisition for the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) East-West Line Phase 1 on 30 July 2024.
