PT KCI Audience Discusses Cooperation in the Management of the Jebres KRL Depot

Grobogan – The Railway Maintenance Center received the PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) audience group. The audience was attended by KCI Technical Director Denny Haryanto. Denny came accompanied by KCI Area VI Yogyakarta management. The group arrived on Thursday (2/3) and were received by the management of the Railway Maintenance Center in the Loko CC 300 Meeting Room, the Ngrombo Workshop.

KCI's audience agenda is to follow up on the management plan for the Jebres Surakarta KRL Depot on maintenance activities for the railroad facilities operated by KCI on the Solo-Yogyakarta rail line.

There are several points explained by the Technical Director of KCI, the interesting thing is the collaboration plan that is forged between his party as the operator and the government as a regulator in the railway sector as well as the depot development plan in the future. "We hope that the Jebres depot can be operated, how is the licensing process until we can use the depot with the PNBP flow, what is the process like, what is the rental procedure like at the Treatment Center, what does the customer need to go through to rent the facility," explained denny.

For information, the Directorate General of Railways, through the Semarang Railway Engineering Center, has completed building the Jebres KRL Depot facility in 2023. The location of the depot is in the Jebres Station area, Surakarta City. As for the future management of the Depot, it is projected that it will be handed over to the Railway Maintenance Office.

Responding to the Technical Director of KCI, Section Head of Periodic Maintenance of the Railway Maintenance Center, Yustina Nurhayati, revealed that her party already has a design for a cooperation pattern for the use of the Jebres KRL Depot.

"First the management scheme for the Solo Jebres depot has been prepared, in the future the management at the Railway Maintenance Center, there is a lot of management that needs to be prepared, including a cooperation mechanism, and it is possible that the Maintenance Center will collaborate with partners, including KCI for its management, this is related to point "In the future, the management points that we are still sharpening internally are related to the Solo Jebres Depo," said Yustina.

In addition to the management of the Jebres KRL Depot, KCI opened a discourse for the need for the development of the KRL Depot in the future, because of the dynamics of the development of railways, especially electric trains.

"KCI as an operator follows the ISO 9001-2012 quality management system in the technical operation of KRL, one of which requires the existence of several operational facilities, so we consider expansion necessary, this is important, because it is one of the requirements to maintain ISO certification, there are already several projected developments. KRL facilities are in accordance with developments in needs and technology, as one of the inputs for the development of facilities for KRL depots in the future, so that there is harmony between what is being developed by the government and the needs of operators," explained Denny discussing the development of the latest railway facilities.

The Railway Maintenance Center has relevance to the management of several KRL Depots, as an institution that is trusted in the field of maintenance of railway facilities, so it is also involved in its development. "Regarding the development of the Depo, what is the mechanism, we will sit together in technical details, later we will propose a development model, later KCI can also propose a model, we will discuss it in a joint forum," explained Yustina.

In line with Yustina, the Head of the Heavy Care Section for Udut Pangihutan Sinaga added that the strategic steps to be carried out must be based on a comprehensive study so that there is enough consideration for implementation in the field, "the development of the depot in the future will pay attention to study results, from there it will be studied from various aspects, so that recommendations for the direction of depot development can be produced as expected for the development of service needs for the operation of the latest railway facilities," explained Udut.

In the audience forum, Denny expressed his hope that there would be synergy between operators and regulators in one good governance.

"I agree with what was said, let's develop the right model of cooperation, between operators and regulators, to equalize perceptions in creating governance in the railway sector, let's build the right model of joint cooperation," said Denny.

The discussion lasted for approximately one hour. The two parties mutually provide various inputs for the development of transportation services in the railway sub-sector, to support public services to the community.

At the end of the audience, Denny took the time to see the facilities for the Railway Maintenance Center and the planned addition of maintenance facilities on a miniature mock up of the plan for the construction of the Railway Maintenance Center in the office building, which is a few meters west of the Ngrombo Workshop building.
