This warning has become a national warning since its stipulation through Decree of the Minister of Transportation Number SK. 274/G/1971 on 26 August 1971. The Harhubnas commemoration every 17 September is held as a momentum to remember a historical event in the transportation sector. Apart from that, Harhubnas is also a momentum to invite the public to appreciate all transportation sub-sectors, namely sea, air, land and railway.

Apart from that, concern for the momentum of National Transportation Day was enlivened with positive activities, with a healthy walking movement on Friday 20 September 2024. The Railway Maintenance Center also participated in the commemoration of National Transportation Day on a national agenda centered on Bali. Baperka Squad (as the Railway Maintenance Center employees/team are called) was sent to take part in the flag ceremony which was held in Bali at the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH) Benoa, on September 17 2024.

This year's Harhubnas has several strategic objectives formulated in the Decree of the Minister of Transportation. The theme for the 2024 National Transportation Harbour is "Advanced Transportation, New Archipelago". The Minister of Transportation said that this theme means a spirit of collaboration and synergy with all stakeholders in the transportation sector, that the achievements of the last 10 years can be successful because of the cooperation and involvement of all parties.
