MTT Matisa Joint Inspection: Increase Technical Knowledge of Railway Facilities
Makassar - The Railway Maintenance Center Team carried out joint inspection activities with the Multi Tie Tamper (MTT) manufacturer technical team from MATISA manufacturing which began on January 22, 2023, at the Makassar railway facility maintenance facility.
The technical team for the Matisa brand MTT manufacturer, Pablo, came directly from Switzerland to conduct an inspection of the MTT in Makassar. Pablo has competence and specialization in the field of operating MTT Matisa facilities.
The activity was attended by five Baperkasquad personnel (a term for the Baperka Railway Maintenance Team), present at the activity, M Karil Samba A, Muhammad Ardian S, Royyan Ghazali, Edo Setiawan and Asriadi.
These personnel had previously attended special railway facilities crew training organized by the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Railways, Ministry of Transportation.
It is planned that the activities will be carried out for the next month. The training program for the operation and maintenance of the MTT special railway facilities at the Maros Depot will take place from 22 January to 21 February 2023.
The first week's agenda was carried out by joint inspection and troubleshooting between the Railway Maintenance Office team and Matisa Swiss experts. The joint inspection activity aims to find out the latest condition of the MTT special railway facility in Makassar with the registration number for the MTT Matisa railway facility SR 3 18 01 and SR 3 18 02.
The troubleshooting activity was carried out to restore MTT's work functions because after the joint inspection was carried out there was damage to the facility with facility number SR 3 18 01 which caused many error functions because the old electrical system was not used.
In addition, interference with the SR 3 18 01 facility, namely in the tamping unit device, indicated that there was an error in the wiring device. In addition, in the installation of the Rail Geometry Measuring System, there was damage to the ELP and ESP when performing laser and nemo calibrations for rail geometry readings, while on the computer during data input and output operations, a damaged relay was detected.
These findings cause the function of the tamping unit to not run perfectly when the operation of ballast compaction (matching), the Rail Geometry Measuring System reading of the track geometry cannot be carried out, and the input output data computer cannot turn off the MTT engine.
So far, the MTT Matisa with the facility number SR 3 18 02, which is in Operational Ready status, is used for construction and maintenance of railroads on the Makassar crossroad. After the implementation of troubleshooting, it is expected that the two MTTs can function properly as an effort to accelerate construction and maintenance of rail lines.
The second week of the operation training will focus on the introduction of the Matisa MTT facility which is guided directly by Pablo, including an introduction to the parts and systems of the Matisa MTT, as well as a general explanation of how to operate and maintain the MTT Matisa special railway facility.
In field observations, activities began with the method of starting the MTT engine, then the operation began with an explanation and practice of using the MTT SR 3 18 02 facility, namely by running the MTT engine a few hundred meters by activating the recording function (record) to find out the condition of the MTT engine. measurement of the existing cross that will be carried out maintenance.
After that, monitoring is carried out on the setting screen in the operating cabin so that it can be adjusted to the standards of several parameters including lifting, shearing, ballast compaction (balancing). After the arrangements have been made, MTT is ready to carry out the operation/maintenance of the railroad according to what has been set in the system.
The third week until the last week, operational practices will be carried out, when MTT Matisa is used for the operation (work) of the construction of the railroad and the maintenance of the Maros - Garongkong railroad.
These activities will be divided based on several cross segments. Apart from carrying out routine work for the operation of the MTT Matisa facility, Baperkasquad will also be given training regarding how to maintain the MTT Matisa facility so that it is ready to maintain the Ready for Operation railway facility.
By carrying out training activities for the operation and maintenance of this special railway facility, it is hoped that the HR of the Railway Maintenance Center will increase competence in the field of operation and maintenance of the MTT Matisa special railway facility, and be certified by prioritizing the principles of occupational safety and health (K3).
