The intended internship agenda will be held from 14 November 2022 to 14 December 2022.

The purpose of this activity is to increase the competency of the Baperka maintenance team in the field of operating railroad facilities in accordance with the work standards of railway facility crews, so that field operations carried out can later improve work safety during the maintenance of railway facilities.

ASP training apprentices while undergoing internship activities, are placed at UPT Crew KA Yogyakarta.

UPT Crew KA Yogyakarta is the center of administrative activity for assistant machinists or machinists of PT KAI (Persero) Daop VI Yogyakarta. In addition to being able to observe ASP activities in Daop VI Yogyakarta, participants were given learning material for discussion, and feedback related to suggestions for improving the implementation of future activities.

ASP activities that can be learned include the working mechanism of assistant machinists and machinists while carrying out official duties operating passenger trains on railroads in the operating area of Daop VI Yogyakarta.

The ASP internship activity directly involved the Head of UPT Crew KA Yogyakarta along with several ranks of PT KAI (Persero) Daop VI Yogyakarta. Activities have been followed up to the end of the event well.

Mr. Subandrio as the Head of UPT Crew KA Yogyakarta, also became a mentor during the ASP internship. Some of the main points of knowledge that have been learned by the ASP training apprentices, include the UPT Crew Yogyakarta Organizational Structure framework, including the description of ASP personnel in it.

In terms of the working mechanism, PT KAI (Persero) has compiled an SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) which must be followed by all ASPs in carrying out their official duties, including general knowledge related to designations and a catalog of train mottos.

Not only the SOP for the railway service, the procedures also contain the activities of the Engineer and Assistant Engineer assessment by the Supervisor before the implementation of the Railway service. Also regarding knowledge about the ASP Formation Flow at UPT Crew Yogyakarta.

The apprentice session that the participants most looked forward to while undergoing the apprenticeship process was to practice the operation of railroad service tasks. Field practice that has been carried out by ASP training apprentices in assisting ASP instructors.

The practice was carried out from the UPT Crew KA Yogyakarta which is located at the center of the Yogyakarta Tugu Station train traffic. The five ASP training apprentices who will be involved in the locomotive driver's cabin, during the turnaround and during operation must have received an O.23 form letter issued by management from the operations department of PT. KAI (Persero). Letter O.23 itself is a permit to gain access to the operating room of a locomotive or train.

After the participants receive letter O.23, the new ASP practice can be carried out alternately, every 2 (two) apprentices accompanied by 1 (one) instructor to be able to enter the cabin of a locomotive and/or self-propelled train. The pattern is executed flexibly to adapt to the situation in the field.

During field observations, the ASP training apprentices took turns (according to a predetermined pattern) entering the cabin of the YIA Airport Train engineer with the route from Yogyakarta Tugu Station to YIA Airport Station. Given the effectiveness of time, the ASP Training Internship participants got off at Wates Station to return to Yogyakarta Tugu Station. The duration of the practice time for one course of internship, runs for approximately 39 minutes.

Not only short-distance train routes, it is possible for apprentices to take part in the practice of operating trains for long-distance routes, but still follow the standard work norms determined by PT KAI (Persero)

All ASP apprentices for the maintenance team of the Railway Maintenance Center, participate in activities in an orderly manner, and respect all employees of PT KAI (Persero) Daop VI Yogyakarta, who are involved. (yogo)
