Ministry of Transportation PPID: TOP! Transparent, Objective, Prime

Bandung – PPID Ministry of Transportation has a motto of transparent, objective and excellent information services or abbreviated as TOP!. The motto is guided by all PPIDs within the Ministry of Transportation from the Main PPID, the Implementing PPID to the UPT Implementing PPID, including the Railway Maintenance Center PPID as the UPT Implementing PPID.

As mentioned Law no. 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Disclosure, article 1 states that Information Management and Documentation Officers (PPID) are officials responsible for storing, documenting, providing, and/or providing information services in public bodies.

Information services in the context of public information disclosure are related to human rights / basic rights possessed by humans. Based on Law no. 39 of 1999, the definition of human rights is a set of rights that are inherent in the nature and existence of humans.

Specifically, humans have the right to obtain information (right to know) based on Resolution 59 (1) of the United Nations General Assembly in 1946 which states that freedom of information is a fundamental human right and is a sign of all freedoms which will be the focus of the United Nations.

Article 28F states that everyone has the right to communicate and obtain information to develop their personal and social environment, and has the right to seek, obtain, possess, and store information by using all kinds of channels. which is available.

Moving on from the above understanding, thus the management of public information services cannot be underestimated. For this reason, the Ministry of Transportation is holding a marathon PPID Forum 2022.

The first forum was organized by the Directorate General of Railways for the PPID Forum of the Directorate General of Railways 2022 on Thursday s.d. Friday, 11 s.d. 12 August 2022. Then followed by the 2022 Ministry of Transportation PPID Forum activities organized by the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Transportation on Thursday, 25 August 2022 in Bandung.

The importance of holding the PPID Forum is in the context of coordinating and optimizing the implementation of Information Disclosure by the Implementing PPID and UPT Implementing PPID. This effort is in line with the direction of the Minister of Transportation conveyed at the PPID Forum of the Ministry of Transportation, in order to maintain the performance of managing public information services at the Ministry of Transportation.

The management of public information services at the Ministry of Transportation was updated in 2022 through the Decree of the Minister of Transportation Number KM 117 of 2022 concerning SOPs for Information Management and Documentation Officers within the Ministry of Transportation, and supported by the Decree of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transportation Number KP 428 of 2022 concerning the List of Public Information Ministry of Transportation in 2022.

In addition to strengthening the components of the structure of public information services, on this occasion the Ministry of Transportation launched an inclusive information service. In accordance with the theme of the event "Information Independence", it is hoped that information services can be enjoyed and benefit all people, including friends with disabilities, one of which is by making a form regarding public information services in braille.

For information, in 2022 the Ministry of Transportation will carry out a public information service audit independently (self-assessment), after two years previously getting the "Informative" predicate for the ministry/institution category at the Public Information Openness Award. The audit is carried out by meeting the parameters of the Central Information Commission (KIP).

There are 4 (four) main parameters in the monitoring and evaluation (monev) of public information disclosure carried out by KIP, covering aspects of website development and digitization, announcement of public information, public information services, and provision of public information.

Quoted from PPID of the Ministry of Transportation on the page www.dephub.go.id/ppid, since Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Disclosure (UU KIP) was implemented effectively on April 30, 2010 it has pushed the Indonesian nation one step forward. , become a transparent and accountable nation in managing public resources. The UU KIP as a binding legal instrument is a milestone or basis for all Indonesian people to jointly supervise directly public services organized by Public Bodies.

Disclosure of information is one of the important pillars that will encourage the creation of a climate of transparency. Especially in this open era, people's desire to obtain information is getting higher. The enactment of the UU KIP is a fundamental change in the life of society, nation and state, therefore there needs to be awareness from all elements of the nation so that every institution and government agency in managing information must adhere to the principles of good governance, good governance and accountability.
