Enlivening the Grobogan Carnival, Baperka Presents “CC300”

Grobogan - The Grobogan Regency Railway Maintenance Center and Transportation Service enlivened the Grobogan Regency Development Carnival which was held on Tuesday (22/8/2023). The carnival parade was held to commemorate the 78th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

The carnival parade was officially opened by the Regent of Grobogan, Sri Sumarni, in front of the Grobogan Regent's Office, marked by the raising of a black and white checkered starting flag. The parade was attended by 54 participants consisting of various government elements and stakeholders in the administrative area of ​​Grobogan Regency.

The Regent of Grobogan was accompanied by the ranks of the Grobogan Regional Leadership Coordination Forum who were also present to witness the various floats passing directly in front of the Regent.

Being in the row of participants number 31 together with the Grobogan Transportation Agency, the Railway Maintenance Center team, led directly by a representative of the Head of the Railway Maintenance Center, was present bringing a large vehicle decorated to resemble a replica of the CC 300 Hydraulic Diesel Locomotive.

The CC 300 Loko replica was introduced to the people of Grobogan as the mascot of the Railway Maintenance Center. The CC 300 locomotive is a rare type of locomotive that rarely circulates on railway lines, however, this railway facility has advantages in terms of its ability to withstand floods on railway lines.

Right on the stage of the Grobogan Regent's Office Hall, the Baperka team had the opportunity to hand over a miniature CC 300 Locomotive directly to the Grobogan Regent as a typical railway souvenir.

Apart from the float with a replica of the CC 300 red locomotive, the Baperka team brought along a replica of the Geismar Excavator special equipment. The two replicas are side by side with a double decker bus replica that was brought in by the Grobogan Regency Transportation Service team.

This series of decorative vehicles with the distinctive nuances of transportation facilities is the result of collaboration between transportation personnel in Grobogan Regency, between the Railway Maintenance Center and the Grobogan Regency Transportation Service.

Apart from floats with replicas of land and railway transportation facilities, the line of transportation human carnivals was also enlivened by the Baperka Squad which consisted of several platoons of personnel carrying red and white flags, then there was the Baperka heroine team dressed all in white with red ornaments, and followed by the railway maintenance technical team behind him led by the railroad mascot in the form of a robot resembling the fictional Transformers superhero figure.

Inevitably, the replica line succeeded in becoming a magnet among the crowds of Grobogan Regency people who also witnessed the snaking carnival line.

It's not uncommon for people to ask to take selfies with some of the railway facility mascot robots..

"The carnival is really exciting, it's really busy this year, especially today (Tuesday) the parade participants are more lively, there are lots of people watching, the participants are also more diverse and creative," said Rahma, one of the people who took part in watching the development carnival parade in front of the stage. Throughout the journey, the group from Baperka and Transportation Agency continuously entertained the residents through musical entertainment and glimpses of information about the hall which was packaged nicely.

The enthusiasm of Grobogan residents is also high when they witness various attractions with cultural nuances with elements of localism and nationalism. During field coverage, residents of Grobogan Regency were observed crowding along the Purwodadi city protocol road and open space points on the carnival route.

Carnival activities are centered in Grobogan Square, with a route via Jalan Gatot Subroto heading north on Jalan D.I. Panjaitan, then pass through Jalan Hayam Wuruk and Jalan Dr. Sutomo, then towards Simpang Lima, turning towards Jalan R. Suprapto and MT Haryono, until returning to the finish line back to Alun-Alun Grobogan.

Carnival participants come from various groups, ranging from elements of government agencies and the private sector. Each raises the potential of OPD, BUMD, District and Company. All participants presented various performances and attractions according to their respective characteristics. Various attractions are presented, starting from dances, then some featuring traditional costumes to displaying ornaments of certain commodities, such as agricultural products in the form of rice, corn, to industrial cement products produced by local factories.

Grobogan Regent Sri Sumarni appreciated the enthusiasm and high interest of the people who took part in and watched the carnival activities.

As quoted on the official Grobogan Regency Government website www.grobogan.go.id, Regent Sri Sumarni hopes that in the future this activity can be an inspiration for development progress in Grobogan Regency.

"Today's carnival has lots of participants (crowded) and enthusiasm is unbelievable. The hope is for the development of Grobogan Regency to be better and to continue moving forward for a developed Indonesia," said Sri Sumarni as written on the Grobogan regency portal page.

Based on records in the field, the carnival starts at 13.00 local time. The parade began with a March of Paskibra, Grobogan Regency, which was then followed by other marching participants.

The Railway Maintenance Center, in synergy with the Grobogan Regency Transportation Service, has a turn to enter the starting line at 16.00 WIB. It started with a group from the Transportation Agency, then followed by a group from Baperka, and at the end the procession was closed with a musical entertainment truck performed by carnival teams from the two agencies in the transportation sector.

The annual event organized by the Grobogan Regency Government is well utilized by the Railway Care Center to continue to introduce its existence to the Grobogan community, in a light and entertaining format.

The Railway Maintenance Center is administratively located in Grobogan Regency, precisely on the edge of Jalan Raya Purwodadi-Solo Km 6, Ngrombo Hamlet, Depok Village, Toroh District, Grobogan Regency.

The Railway Maintenance Center is one of the vertical government agencies in the railway sub-sector under the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation.
