DJKA THROUGH BTP BANDUNG PROVIDED COMPENSATION PAYMENTS FOR RESIDENTS AFFECTED BY CONSTRUCTION IN BAROS VILLAGE

BANDUNG - The Bandung Class I Railway Engineering Center (BTP Bandung) under the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) has disbursed compensation payments to individuals affected by social impacts related to land provision for the National Strategic Project involving the construction of double-track railways between Bandung - Padalarang and Bogor - Yogyakarta. The compensation payment was specifically made to residents of Baros Village, located in the Central Cimahi District of Cimahi City, on Thursday (02/02).

"Following a series of events, which included data collection and socialization, we organized a recommendation meeting in 2022 to propose the issuance of the governor's decree. Now, in Baros Village, we are proceeding with making the compensation payments," stated Susiana, the Decision Making Officer (PPK) of BTP Bandung Land.

Susiana elaborated that the compensation payments underwent a comprehensive series of procedures in compliance with Presidential Regulation Number 62/2018, which addresses the management of social community impacts when acquiring land for social development purposes.

"The individuals whose names have been registered by BTP Bandung are considered as beneficiaries, and when the government requires their cooperation, we are obligated to proceed accordingly. We hope that this activity will continue to progress smoothly in the future," expressed Aneke, the Lurah (Village Chief) of Baros.
"For me, I just accept it, because it is not my land and I expected that it would be more advanced in the future," said Bernadus, one of the residents of Baros Village regarding the compensation payment activity.
DJKA through BTP Bandung paid a total of 61 parcels, which will later be used for the construction of JPL Ciroyom and JPL Pusdikpom.
