BTP Padang Fully Supports the Defense of Railway Personnel Against Drug Misuse

Padang- The Railway Engineering Center (BTP) Class II Padang completely supports the Railway Human Resources (HR) Socialization and Contelligence Operation (Urine Test) in the Divre II Padang Region in 2023.

The activity held on Thursday (9/3) at the Santika Hotel by the Ministry of Transportation's Directorate of Railway Safety seeks to raise awareness among railway human resources about the dangers of narcotic and their legality in order to improve safety in the operation of the Train (KA).

"Of course, as a regulator, this supervision task is important given this operator's heavy and noble task of safely transporting and delivering passengers to their destination." "Imagine if there are human resources who are under the influence of these illicit goods; it is obviously very dangerous," Supandi added in his speech.

Furthermore, according to Supandi, the circulation, distribution, and transaction of narcotics is huge and disregard age, social class, occupation, and other factors.

"Even with today's technological advances, the mode of operation of narcotics is becoming increasingly sophisticated, even in remote areas that we think are unlikely to be contaminated, it is now so easy to break in therein even for students," Supandi pointed out.

As a result, Supandi expects that railroad personnel will be fully aware of the hazards and methods of spreading them.

On the same day, Yohn Ferry, Head of DJKA's Sub-Directorate of Prevention and Law Enforcement, stated that this is the Ministry of Transportation's commitment to BNN to take preventative steps to avoid unpleasant things from happening due to narcotics consumption.

"This action is carried out, especially for railway human resources, to improve safety in railways because public safety is actually in the hands of these human resources," he explained.

Yohn Ferry further stated that this program provides railroad human resources to achieve safety and service requirements ahead of Eid 2023.

Around 80 participants from PT KAI (Persero) Divre II Padang participated in this activity. They will perform urine tests to determine whether or not HR is relevant to narcotic addiction.

Crossing Road Guards (PJL), Railway Warana Crew (ASP), Train Travel Organizers (PPKA), Examiners, and Nurses were among the participants.

Wandri Funisha, a representative of the West Sumatra Transportation Agency, the Secretariat General of the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation's medical team, the PT KAI (Persero) Divre II Padang Team, and BTP Class II Padang personnel were also present.
