BTP Padang Conducts Regular Monitoring and Evaluation of 27 Direct Crosing Line Post (POS JPL) Operations

Padang – Since the operationalization of 27 direct crossing line posts (POS JPL) in three regions of West Sumatra in April 2023, regular monitoring and evaluation (monev) has become essential to ensure that the POS JPLs are functioning according to the established operational standards.

The periodical monev is also conducted to assess the condition of facilities and infrastructure at the POS JPLs, which are under the responsibility of Balai Teknik Perkeretaapian Kelas II Padang. "BTP Padang ensures that all necessary facilities such as signaling systems, communication tools, and other equipment are in good condition and working optimally," said Hendrialdi, Head of BTP Padang in his statement.

In addition, the assessment includes an evaluation of the number and competency of personnel assigned to each POS to ensure that they have the appropriate knowledge and skills to manage the crossings so that train operations can proceed safely and efficiently. "The discipline of Petugas Jaga Lintas (PJL) in performing their duties must also be monitored, including how they coordinate with other personnel and how prepared they are in case of unforeseen incidents," he added.

In line with its bureaucratic procedures, BTP Padang regularly submits evaluation reports on the performance of each POS JPL. These reports include the monitoring results of the facilities, the performance of the personnel, and the overall management of the crossing. Based on the evaluation results, recommendations are made focusing on improvements and developments related to operations from various aspects, including infrastructure, procedures, and staff training.

The aim of this initiative is to ensure that the POS JPLs continue to operate effectively and provide a safe and reliable environment for both train operations and the general public.
