Padang –Class II Railway Engineering Centre Padang remains committed to reducing accidents at level crossings. Several initiatives have been undertaken, including improving railway infrastructure and safety facilities, as well as conducting socialization and campaigns to raise public awareness about the importance of maintaining safety at these crossings.

"Improving infrastructure and safety measures is important, but it will be futile if it's not accompanied by raising public awareness. Infrastructure will not function properly if people don't understand its purpose and the rules in place. That's why socialization is crucial," said Hendrialdi, Head of BTP Padang, in a statement.

He emphasized that safety campaigns at level crossings should be conducted on a regular basis during the Sosialisasi Peraturan Perlintasan Serentak (Simultaneous Level Crossing Regulations Socialization) event, which was organized by PT KAI (Persero) Divre II Sumbar in collaboration with stakeholders.

"BTP Padang fully supports activities aimed at reducing accidents at level crossings and ensuring the safety and comfort of train travel. This is part of our duties and functions as outlined in PM No. 36/2022 on the Organization and Work Procedures of Railway Engineering Centre," he added.

"We hope that regular safety campaigns at level crossings will raise public awareness about the dangers that exist at railway crossings. These activities also serve as a reminder for people to take responsibility for their safety," he concluded.
