THE DIRECTORATE OF RAILWAY SAFETY HELD A TECHNICAL GUIDANCE AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT OF RAILWAY CIVIL SERVANTS 2023 TO IMPROVE THEIR ABILITY.

Bekasi, February 8, 2023.

To strengthen the effectiveness of law enforcement within the railway sector and improve the investigative and administrative capabilities of the Railway Safety Directorate's Sub-Directorate of Prevention and Law Enforcement (PPNS), the Ministry of Transportation's Directorate General of Railways organized a three-day Technical Guidance (Bimtek) and Quality Improvement program for Railway PPNS in 2023. The event took place from 6-8 February 2023, at the Aston Imperial Hotel Bekasi.

The event commenced with an opening report delivered by Yohn Ferry, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee. During his address, the Head of the Sub-Directorate of Prevention and Law Enforcement announced the participation of a total of 40 individuals, representing the PPNS personnel from various departments within the railway sector. These departments included the Secretariat General of Railways, Directorate of Railway Infrastructure, Directorate of Railway Facilities, Directorate of Railway Safety, Railway Engineering Center, Railway Testing Center, and Railway Maintenance Center.

The Director of Railway Safety (plt) Suranto, delivered a speech as well as opening the Bimtek and Quality Improvement of Railway PPNS in 2023. Suranto stated in his statements that several breaches, such as throwing objects into trains, stealing railway assets, and putting unauthorized constructions on the border of the railway line, threaten train movement. The Directorate General of Railways PPNS, which is dispersed over the head office and regional work units, is expected to be able to combat unlawful structures as well as offenders of theft and hurling.

On the first day of the examination, the instructor of Bimtek and Quality Improvement of Railway PPNS in 2023 was from Rokorwas PPNS Bareskrim Polri, who delivered material on coordination and supervision procedures; wasmatlitrik; practice of making investigation administration; and understanding of formal and material requirements.

On the second day, participants who had been divided into four groups the previous day learnt about creating BAP, prosecution, article components (Resume), and filing simulations. On the third day, each group presented their group's Resume, Case Title, and BAP (Witness, Expert, Suspect).

The Head of PPNS Rokorwas Rokorwas PPNS Bareskrim Polri, Kombes Pol Riky Haznul, remarked at the closing of the Bimtek and Quality Improvement of Railway PPNS in 2023 that the investigation process is like playing a puzzle. When 80% of the puzzle is completed, we can clearly see the image in the puzzle. There is no such thing as a flawless inquiry. However, the solution to the puzzles is nearly flawless. Existing facts must be reimagined.

It is expected that following this training, PPNS at the Ministry of Transportation's Directorate General of Railways will begin to be active in the field, allowing the knowledge gained from the New PPNS Formation Training to Technical Guidance and Improvement of PPNS Quality in 2023 to be properly applied.
