Discussion of Strategic Issues of Railway Safety, BTP Class I Medan Collaborates with Related Stakeholders for Joint Commitment

MEDAN - Medan Class I Railway Engineering Center (BTP) has held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to discuss strategic issues regarding railway safety with the theme "Stakeholder Collaboration in Improving Level Crossing Safety in the North Sumatra Region", Wednesday (10/23/2024)

The event was attended by the Head of Medan Class I Railway Engineering Center, Mr. Jimmy Michael Gultom, and involved a formulation team and eight speakers from various related agencies.

The formulation team and eight speakers are as follows:

  1. Edi Nursalam as the Formulation Team;
  2. Optimization of the Use of the APBD in the Framework of Improving Safety at Level Crossings on Provincial, City and Regency Roads by M. Ali Irmanda from the Directorate General of Regional Development Development, Ministry of Home Affairs;
  3. Legal Basis for Authority and Responsibility for Improving Safety at Level Crossings by Danan Widhonarko from the Directorate of Railway Safety;
  4. Efforts to Handle Road Repairs at Level Crossings on National Roads by Moses Siburian from the National Road Implementation Center of North Sumatra Province;
  5. Violations of Law and Enforcement in the Railway Track Area and Level Crossings by Rika Sigalingging from the North Sumatra Regional Police;
  6. Planning and Efforts to Improve Safety at Railway Level Crossings by H. Muchsin Harahap, M.Si from the North Sumatra Provincial Transportation Service;
  7. Accidents at Level Crossings by Satria Adhitya, Regional Division I of North Sumatra Region;
  8. Human Resources for Railway Crossing Gate Guards and Potential for Online Training by Syafek Jamhari from the BPSDM for Land Transportation;
  9. Implementation of Effective and Efficient Human Resource Testing in Financing and Implementation by Arief Yunarto from Railway Testing Center; and
  10. Study of Alternative Funding for Level Crossing Management with creative financing by Aryadarhu Dharismawan from Consultant.

Head of Sub-Directorate of Engineering and Safety Improvement, Danan Widhonarko revealed that the agreement implemented in this FGD must be implemented by stakeholders of related agencies for the safety and security of the community.

"We from the Safety Directorate state that if there is an agreement through a signature, it must be realized, both regionally, districtly, city or province. Let's work together to maintain safety because it is a responsibility, there should be no exceptions," said Danan Widhonarko.

This event creates a joint commitment signed by all related stakeholders, which aims to improve collaboration and ensure that each stakeholder is responsible for their role and contribution in achieving the agreed goals. (AI/ARH/MAD/RZ)
