What is the Directorate General of Railways?
The Directorate General of Railways (Ditjenka or DJKA) is the implementing element at the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, reporting to and responsible to the Minister of Transportation, and is in charge of organizing the formulation and implementation of railway policies.
What is the function of DJKA?
In carrying out its duties, the Directorate General of Railways carries out the following functions:
  1. Policy development in the areas of traffic, transportation, rail transportation facilities and infrastructure, and rail transportation safety;
  2. Policy implementation in the fields of traffic, transportation, rail transportation facilities and infrastructure, and rail transportation safety;
  3. The development of norms, standards, procedures, and criteria in the fields of traffic management, transportation, rail transportation facilities, and infrastructure, as well as the enhancement of rail transportation safety;
  4. Implementation of technical guidance and supervision in the fields of traffic, transportation, rail transportation facilities and infrastructure, and rail transportation safety;
  5. Implementation of evaluation and reporting in the fields of traffic, transportation, rail transportation facilities and infrastructure, and rail transportation safety;
  6. Implementation of the Directorate General of Railways' administration; and
  7. Execution of other duties delegated by the Minister.
