This annual report is a report on the implementation of railway development activities by the Directorate General of Railways as a regulator as stipulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number PM 122 of 2018 concerning Organization and Work Procedures of the Ministry of Transportation.

The Annual Report is also prepared based on very dynamic developments and strategic issues during the 2020 period, one of which is the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic has also had an impact on several railway development activities, including delays in completion of construction and delays in development implementation due to budget refocusing. However, these obstacles are a challenge for the Directorate General of Railways to continue to do their best in improving rail transportation services both between cities and cities with health protocols in the new normal era, ensuring the safety of rail travel and supporting rail network connectivity between regions in Indonesia.
