LRT SOUTH SUMATERA HOLDS A COLOURING COMPETITION SIMULTANEOUSLY AT 13 STATIONS TO GET A MURI RECORD.

Palembang (11/09) – As a means of transportation for the pride of the people in South Sumatra, today (11/9) LRT South Sumatera held a Coloring Competition located at 13 South Sumatra LRT Stations. This competition was attended by 487 participants from various TK-PAUD and Elementary Schools (SD) in South Sumatra. Seeing the high enthusiasm of the participants and the number of LRT stations holding a colouring competition this time made this competition noticed by the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) and is currently in the verification process by MURI as a Simultaneous Coloring Competition at the Most LRT Stations.

Dedik Tri Istiantara, Head of the South Sumatra Light Rail Management Center, appreciated the enthusiasm of the participants who participated in this competition. "Previously, we had done the same activity, namely colouring competitions for kindergarten and elementary school levels, but at that time, it was only held at 1 (one) LRT station. This time we are trying to develop the idea of activities by making a colouring competition held simultaneously at 13 LRT stations. If later the event passes the MURI verification, we hope that the South Sumatra LRT will increasingly become the pride of the people of South Sumatra. Moreover, at the same time, we are also submitting a proposal to MURI so that the South Sumatra LRT gets the title as the first Light Rail Transit (LRT) in Indonesia, God willing, if it passes, the award will be handed over at the peak of National Transportation Day (HARHUBNAS) on 17 September 2022 in Ampera Station". "This colouring competition aims to train children's mentality in competing so that in the future they will have a strong mentality to achieve their goals. Besides that, we hope that children can be educated from an early age to know about mass public transportation, in this case, the LRT, so that they get used to it, and it is hoped that when they go to junior high or high school, they will use the LRT as a means of transportation to school. So this is our long-term investment, and hopefully the occupancy of the South Sumatra LRT can be maintained in the future. On the other hand, we also provide understanding to children that the LRT Station is friendly, safe and comfortable for children," said Dedik Dedik, adding that this colouring competition was held as one of a series of events prepared to welcome National Transportation Day (HARHUBNAS).

In the near future, LRT Sumsel will also launch the LRT Friends with Disabilities right at the peak of HARHUBNAS, which falls on 17 September 2022. "Last August, we sold out 1000 Merdeka Cards, then what is currently running is the sale of LRT Cards for Students/College Students, and in September 2022, we will launch the Friends with Disabilities LRT Card. We have prepared this card for friends with disabilities who will carry out their daily activities using the LRT. All South Sumatra LRT stations already have good facilities and services to serve friends with disabilities. We will continue to do this kind of promotion. Especially at this time, fuel prices are rising, and we hope that the LRT can be a solution for public transportation for activities," he concluded.
