Railways Signaling and Telecommunication System in Cross Cikarang – Cikampek Completed First Testing

BEKASI (12/20) – As is well known, Railways Signaling is a system used to regulate railroad traffic (rail) transportation and maintain a safe distance between trains. The use of railway signaling is intended so that the railroad (rail) transportation system works while complying with work safety and security and working efficiently and effectively.

Therefore, the Railways Testing Office of the Directorate General of Railways dispatched the Railway Infrastructure Testing Team to carry out the First Test on the Signaling and Telecommunication System in the Cikarang to Cikampek route in early December. Some of the stations that passed the First Test are as follows:

  1. Lemahabang Station.
  2. Kedungdedeh Station.
  3. Karawang Station.
  4. Clarion Station.
  5. Kosambi Station.
  6. Dawuan Station and,
  7. Modification of Cikarang Station.

The first test carried out was in the form of a Design Test and a Functional Test. Some of the Test Items include:

  1. Testing the Conformity of Technical Specifications and As Built Drawing.
  2. Testing the Suitability of Layout between Review Design and As Built Drawing.
  3. Layout Suitability Testing between Shop Drawing and As Built Drawing. 
  4. Signal Demonstration Free Space Test. 
  5. Testing of Facility Detector Placement Requirements. 
  6. Testing the Visible Distance of the Signal Viewer. 
  7. Testing the Accuracy of the Formation of the Direction of the Turnout, the Slipping of the Turnout and the Width of the Tongue of the Turnout. 
  8. Grounding System Resistance Testing. 
  9. Facility Detection Function Testing. 
  10. Power Supply Testing. 
  11. Testing of Service Indications and Negative Checks. 
  12. Data Logger Testing. 
  13. Telecommunication Transmission Media System Testing. 
  14. Selective Call Testing and Voice Clarity on Telephone Communication. 
  15. Sound Recording Testing.

The results of the tests that have been carried out will be submitted to the Directorate of Railways Infrastructure for monitoring and evaluation and processed for the issuance of the first test certificate.
