Functionality Test of the Railways to Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA)
BEKASI (09/06) - Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) Airport Train has been soft launched on 27 August 2021 and is ready to serve people who will travel from downtown Yogyakarta to YIA Airport.
However, before the soft launch is carried out, the YIA Airport Railways must go through several testing stages. One of them is the Function Test on Railways Infrastructure.
The Function Test carried out by the Ministry of Transportation through the Railways Testing Office of the Directorate General of Railways is carried out using the Electric Diesel Rail Train (KRDE). This Function Test aims to prove the facility can run smoothly at the planned speed, on the infrastructure that has been built. This activity was carried out from Kedundang Station towards YIA Airport Station along 5.4 Km. Some of the main tests carried out on the YIA Airport Railway line in the Function Test include the Free Space Test, Speed ??Test, Axle Load Test and Frequency Test.
And the Function Test can be declared passed if the YIA Airport Railways track has met the criteria for the determination of the Function Test, which is in accordance with the technical requirements, design and infrastructure functions in order to confirm and support operational feasibility. Furthermore, the test results will be submitted to the Directorate of Railway Infrastructure for monitoring and evaluation and processed for the issuance of the First Test certificate.
