STRENGTHENING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TRANSPORTATION AGENCIES WITH THE THEME "ADVANCED TRANSPORTATION OF THE NEW ARCHIPELAGO”

In commemoration of National Transport Day 2024 (Harhubnas), South Sumatra LRT participated in an event held at the Palembang Type A Class I Navigation District (Disnav) Pier. The event was lively and attended by various transport agencies in the South Sumatra region on Tuesday, 17 September 2024. With the theme "Advanced Transportation of the New Archipelago", this commemoration is not only a momentum to improve the quality of transportation, but also to strengthen the relationship and synergy among agencies involved in the transportation sector.

South Sumatra LRT, which has become one of the backbones of public transport in Palembang, showed its full commitment to continue supporting the development of mass transport in the region. LRT's presence at the event was led by high-level executives and staff who participated in various activities,

South Sumatra Light Railway Management Centre Head Rode Paulus, in his remarks after the event, said their presence at Harhubnas was a form of support for efforts to improve the quality and service of national transport. National Transport Day is an important moment for all of us involved in transport to share and strengthen cooperation. With the theme 'Advanced Transportation of the New Archipelago', we are committed to continuing to provide the best service and support the creation of an integrated and modern transportation system in Indonesia,' he said.

The Harhubnas commemoration was filled with various activities ranging from flag ceremonies, parades of transport vehicles, to cultural performances. In addition, inter-agency discussions were held to discuss various issues and challenges facing the transport sector in South Sumatra, particularly in relation to the integration of transport modes such as LRT, buses, river transport, and air transport. The discussion also focused on the development of sustainable transport infrastructure, digitalisation of services, and the importance of transport safety.

Bapak Rode expressed his hope that all transport agencies can continue to work together in the future to achieve a better and more modern transport system. The presence of the South Sumatra LRT as a modern means of transport in Palembang is a clear example that we are able to provide fast, safe, and comfortable transport. I hope this cooperation can continue so that people in this new archipelago can benefit from integrated transport,' he said.

This year's National Transport Day celebration at the Palembang Disnav Pier also involved the general public and students. They were invited to better understand the important role of the transport sector in everyday life, and how innovation and technological developments continue to push transport in a better direction.

With the spirit of 'Advanced Transport for the New Archipelago', LRT South Sumatra hopes to continue to be an important part of positive change in the transport sector, not only in South Sumatra, but throughout Indonesia. The synergy between agencies, further strengthened by the commemoration of Harhubnas, is expected to have a significant impact on the development of a more modern, integrated, and sustainable transport system.
