On Wednesday, 24 May 2023, Ir. Bram Hertasning, ST, MTM, MLogMan, IPM, CRA, CRP, ASEAN Eng., and other employees from the Ministry of Transportation visited the South Sumatra Light Railway Management Center (BPKARSS). They were accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ir. Hj. Erika Buchari, MSc, and the team as resource people. The visit was received by the Head of BPKARSS, Rode Paulus GP, S.Si.T., MT, and his subordinates in the Ampera conference room in the BPKARSS headquarters.

The purpose of this visit was to develop recommendations for the development of urban rail vehicles as well as the formation of a Railway Infrastructure Operator Business Entity. Discussions and field observations were conducted in this activity to acquire data and information on Palembang's urban trains.
The Ministry of Transportation's Transportation Policy Agency is collaborating with BPKARSS to determine the policies required for the establishment of a better urban railway system in South Sumatra. They will also propose policy proposals for the formation of a commercial organization responsible for railway infrastructure execution.

These discussions and field observations will help in the collection of data and information required for the development of quality policy recommendations. As a result, it is anticipated that a more efficient and effective urban railway system would be developed in Palembang, South Sumatra.
