The Indonesian Railways Company (KAI) apologizes for the train service disruptions in Jakarta's DAOP 1 sector

The Indonesian Railways Company (KAI) apologizes for the disruption to train travel that occurred in the DAOP 1 area of ??Jakarta due to high rainfall resulting in flooding on Sunday (21/2) morning.

"We, on behalf of KAI Management, would like to apologize to our customers for the disruption of train travel and services due to flooding that inundated the Kedunggedeh - Lemahabang railway line, Kab. Bekasi," said Indonesian Railways Vice President of Public Relations Joni Martinus.

The Kedunggedeh - Lemahabang railway line, precisely at km 55+100 to km 54+500 until this morning at 09.00 is still flooded. The flooding that submerged a number of sections of the rail line was the impact of the increased river flow from the Kamojing, Pupukujang, and Walahar dams.

As a result, the location is temporarily not accessible to trains. There are trains whose trips have been cancelled, as well as trips that have been diverted by bus and then by train from Cikampek station to destination cities.

We have contacted all affected customers, to inform them of the latest conditions related to their train journeys. For more information regarding train travel, customers can contact Customer Service at the Station, KAI Contact Center by telephone at 021-121, WhatsApp KAI121 at 08111-2111-121, email cs@kai.id, or KAI121 social media.

Joni added that KAI is currently making various efforts to restore train travel at that location. Handling is carried out both in terms of the operational arrangements of the railway and the infrastructure of the railway line.

"We are committed to always prioritizing the safety, security, and comfort of train travel. Hopefully, the weather will improve soon and the floods will be resolved soon so that the affected train lines will return to normal and train journeys can operate smoothly," concluded Joni.
