THE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION PUBLISHES THE MOST RECENT CIRCULAR, IN WHICH THE PEDULI LINDUNGI APPLICATION HAS BEEN MADE A REQUIREMENT FOR TRAIN TRANSPORTATION

Jakarta (11/9)-Referring to the Circular Letter of the Task Force for Handling Covid-19 of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2021 concerning Amendments to Travel Provisions for Domestic Persons During the Covid-19 Pandemic dated September 6, 2021, the Directorate General of Railways issued Circular Letter (SE) Number 69 of 2021 concerning Amendments to Letters Circular of the Minister of Transportation Number Circular Letter 66 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Rail Transportation During the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) Pandemic.

The most important change is that every traveler using rail transportation modes, both intercity trains and urban trains is required to use the PeduliLindung application as a condition for traveling. This is in line with the Government's program to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus, one of which is tracing through the data recorded in the application.

Specifically, this Circular also stipulates that routine commuter train trips and within agglomeration areas or areas are carried out with changes, among others, travelers are not required to show a Certificate of negative results from the RT-PCR test or rapid antigen test, and STRP or Letter of Assignment and/or other travel certificates. Instead, travelers are required to use the Peduli Lindungi application as a condition of travel and must show at least the first dose of vaccine card for those who do not use the Peduli Lindungi application.

In the Peduli Lindungi application, data on prospective passengers is usually recorded whether they have been vaccinated or not, or are positive or not. However, if there are problems with the application while in the field, the prospective passenger can show proof of the certificate either in print or in file. For those who do not have a vaccine certificate because of medical reasons they cannot be vaccinated, they can show proof of a certificate from a specialist doctor.

This Circular Letter will come into effect on September 7, 2021 and related technical matters in the field are submitted to operators who provide services for both Inter-City Trains and Urban Trains, Commuters or Local Trains. Conditions in the field are very dynamic and so operators can socialize and provide services and by sticking to the rules that have been set by the Government. It is recommended that the public immediately adapt to these new provisions.
