JAKARTA (7/5)-In order to ensure security during the Lebaran homecoming ban in 2021, a group of members of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives conducted a Specific Working Visit at Pasar Senin Station, Friday (07/05). The activity which aims to review the implementation of eliminating early homecoming was also attended by the Director General of Railways Zulfikri and his staff, Director of Transportation of the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency Aca Mulyana, Director of Commerce PT. On this occasion, Director General of Railways Zulfikri explained regulations related to transportation control during the Eid al-Fitr 1442 H. The provisions of this regulation are conveyed in the Task Force Circular (Circular Letter) Number 13 of 2021 concerning the Prohibition of Homecoming for Eid Al-Fitr 1422 Hijri and Control act of the spreading of Covid-19 During Ramadan 1422 Hijri. Zulfikri explained that during the homecoming prohibition, there were several travelers who were allowed to travel, such as logistics distribution service vehicles and travelers with urgent needs for non-homecoming purposes.

The non-homecoming interests referred to by Zulfikri include work/official trips, sick family visits, visits to mourning family members who passed away, pregnant women who are accompanied by 1 (one) family member, child laboring concern assisted by a maximum of 2 (two) people, and certain non-homecoming interests. The non-homecoming traveler is required to provide a written travel permit and a certificate of negative RT PCR test results for a maximum of 3x24 hours, a negative rapid antigen test result for a maximum of 24 hours and a negative result for Genose C19 before departure. In addition, Zulfikri also emphasized that there was a limitation on the number of passengers as many as one carriage filled with a maximum of 74 people, this was applied as an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the train.

Furthermore, the Commercial Director of PT. KAI (Perseo) Dadan Rudiansyah, ensures that the validation of the data and document verification system carried out before the departure of prospective passengers is guaranteed. And in the period of prohibition of homecoming in 2021,  most of the passengers are the commuter community or workers who often travel back and forth on Mondays and Fridays.

In this activity, Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives also took the time to approach the passengers of the Tegal Express train. "Earlier we have seen and met with the passengers on the train, there are some passengers who have non-homecoming needs because their families are sick and there are passengers who need to do official duties in the other region," said Deputy Chairman of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Arwani Thomafi. In his remarks , Arwani also emphasized that this homecoming is a tradition of Indonesian society that has been embedded in the culture of the community itself, however, the community must also respect this policy.

Therefore, the government urges the policy of the prohibition of homecoming to be understood together by all levels of society, agencies, and all relevant officials. So the process of prohibition of homecoming this year is expected to be applied better than last year. (SPN/MIR/JM)
