WORK VISITS OF MEMBERS OF COMMISSION V OF THE INDONESIAN HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO THE WORK AREA OF THE CLASS II RAILWAYS ENGINEERING OFFICE FOR THE NORTH SUMATERA REGIONAREA

MEDAN (14/10) – Director of Railways Infrastructure, Mr. Harno Trimadi, accompanied by the Head of the Class II Railways Engineering Office for the North Sumatra Region, Mr. Dandun Prakosa, received a working visit from Member of Commission V of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Bob Andika Mamana Sitepu, to the working area of ??Class II Railways Engineering Office for North Sumatra Region Also present were the Regent of Batu Bara Regency, Head of Sector Police of Batu Bara Regency and the Vice President of Regional Divison I of PT. KAI.

In order to improve connectivity in the railway sector, the Class II Railways Engineering Office for North Sumatra Region as a representative of the Directorate General of Railways carried out several development activities that support the realization of ease of transportation in the railway sector in the North Sumatra working area.

During the visit, the development activities for the 2021 Fiscal Year at Railways Engineering Office North Sumatra were explained, including:

  1. Construction of the Lhokseumawe - Bireuen Cross Railroad (Continued Construction of the 8 km Krueng Geukueh - Paloh Segment Railway)
  2. Continuation of the construction of the Trans Sumatran Besitang – Langsa Railway (Segment Sei Liput - Besitang) along 35 km'sp
  3. Utility Jobs across Bandar Tinggi – Kuala Tanjung
  4. Land Procurement Work of the North Sumatra Regional Railways Engineering Office.

In addition to these activities, activities were also carried out to improve the Araskabu - Tebing Tinggi - Siantar railway line along 105,543 km'sp with the benefit of increasing the speed of train travel from the original 60 km / hour to a maximum speed of 90 km / hour and shortening the travel time between Medan - Siantar from 4 hours to 2 hours. In addition, to increase the capacity of Lubuk Pakam Station from the original passenger capacity of 2000 people / day to 8000 people / day, with an old building area (existing) of 300m2 to 875m2 (new station).
