PALEMBANG - The Indonesian Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, reviewed transportation facilities and infrastructure in South Sumatra Province, Saturday (20/2). During their visit, the Minister of Transportation together with the Governor of South Sumatra, Herman Deru, reviewed the location of the Laut Dalam Port, which is planned to be built in the Tanjung Carat area, Banyuasin Regency.

On the same occasion, the Minister of Transportation and the Governor of South Sumatra also visited the South Sumatra LRT. This time the Minister of Transportation's working visit to the LRT was to check the re-routing of the integration of the LRT mode with the Transmusi Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).

Also accompanying, the Director General of Railways, Zulfikri, and the Head of the South Sumatra Light Rail Management Office, Rosita. The group used the South Sumatra LRT from Airport Station to Sriwijaya Earth Station.

"The results of the check show that there is an increase in LRT passengers and it is hoped that this will continue to increase by paying attention to the implementation of health protocols," said Rosita, head of the South Sumatra Light Rail Management Office.

Rosita also reported the asset optimization plan to be carried out in order to reduce government subsidies for the operation of the South Sumatra LRT.
