TICKETS QUOTA FOR MOTIS STILL AVAILABLE, DJKA INVITES THE COMMUNITY TO GO EARLY

Jakarta (24/04) – In order to avoid the accumulation of homecomers on the peak date of the 2022 Eid Transport, Director General of Railways Zulfikri invites the public to be able to travel back and forth earlier. This invitation is in line with the directives conveyed by the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi at the Eid Al-Fitr 2022 Homecoming Command Post held at Gambir Station on Friday (22/04).

Zulfikri added that the public can take advantage of the free motorbike transportation quota (MOTIS) which is still available. "As of April 24, 2022, there are still around 7,013 MOTIS quotas available and can be used by the community to travel back and forth," he continued. Zulfikri hopes that by utilizing the available MOTIS quota, people can travel back and forth safely and comfortably and risk-free from two-wheeled accidents.

The availability of this MOTIS quota is based on the number of registered MOTIS program registrants. As of April 24, 2022, there were 2,267 registrants for the MOTIS program with details of the quota still available for early departures from Jakarta Gudang Station of 750 quotas for April 26, 2022; 604 quotas for April 27 2022; 754 quotas for April 28, 2022; 569 quotas for April 29, 2022; and 646 quotas for April 30, 2022.

Meanwhile, for the return flow with the final destination in Jakarta Gudang Station, there are still 861 quotas available for May 5, 2022; 810 quotas for May 6, 2022; 775 quotas for May 7, 2022; 744 quotas for May 8, 2022; and 745 quotas for May 9, 2022. The quotas that are still available include north and south traffic with 11 MOTIS serving stations, namely Jakarta Gudang Station, Cirebon Prujakan Station, Purwokerto Station, Kroya Station, Kutoarjo Station, Lempuyangan Station, Klaten Station , Purwosari Station, Tegal Station, Pekalongan Station, and Semarang Tawang Station.

With the availability of a large MOTIS quota, Zulfikri invites the public to immediately register to carry out homecoming faster by using this MOTIS transportation. "Moreover, there are 13,800 seats that have been specifically provided for MOTIS transportation participants and can be used by people who have run out of regular tickets," he added.

The available seat quotas for MOTIS participants include the trains connecting Pasar Senen - Semarang Tawang (pp) and Pasar Senen - Purwosari (pp). By utilizing this special seat quota, prospective MOTIS participants can have additional alternatives other than travel tickets, buses, or regular train tickets that have run out. So it is hoped that the community can more easily take advantage of this MOTIS program and switch from two-wheeled vehicles.

In order to get a special seat quota for MOTIS participants, prospective passengers must meet the following requirements.

  1. Only valid for MOTIS Participants
  2. 1 motorbike is valid for a maximum of 3 tickets
  3. Passenger tickets are valid according to the route and date according to the MOTIS trip
  4. Departure period 26-30 April and 5-9 May
  5. Direct purchases at all stations serving MOTIS (Jakarta Gudang Station, Cirebon Prujakan, Tegal, Pekalongan, Semarang Tawang, Purwokerto, Kutoarjo, Kroya, Lempuyangan, Klaten, and Purwosari)
  6. Tickets that have been purchased cannot be canceled and rescheduled.

The Free Motorcycle Transportation Program (MOTIS) was again organized by the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation to accommodate the community's enthusiasm after two years of not going home. Based on a survey conducted by the Research and Development of the Ministry of Transportation, it is estimated that as many as 85.5 million people will travel back and forth this year, with 7.66 million predicted to use rail transportation. In anticipating this, DJKA has appointed KAI Group to provide 9,280 quotas for MOTIS, whose registration has been open since April 20, 2022, which can be accessed via (bit.ly/motis2022). (HJA)
