RELEASING THE FIRST DEPARTURE OF MOTIS TRANSPORT, DIRECTOR GENERAL OF KA: GOOD LUCK AND GET THERE SAFE

Jakarta (26/04) - Director General of Railways Zulfikri, accompanied by Director of Railway Traffic and Transportation Risal Wasal, released the first departure for Free Motorcycle Transport (MOTIS) at Jakarta Gudang Station on Tuesday (26/04). This activity was also attended by the President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) and the President Director of PT Kereta Api Logistik and their ranks.

The MOTIS program was again carried out this year by the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation to accommodate the community's enthusiasm in celebrating Eid homecoming after two years of not carrying out homecoming. In addition, this program was re-implemented to improve the safety and comfort of travelers’ safety and comfort, especially for two-wheeled vehicles’ driver.

Since it was first held, the MOTIS program has recorded a fairly good trend of service growth. "At the last implementation in 2019, this program transported 19,141 motorcycles for three cross-services, a drastic increase from the number of 827 motorcycles transported at the beginning of the implementation in 2013," explained Zulfikri.

Furthermore, Zulfikri said that DJKA had prepared 9,280 MOTIS transportation quotas this year. "As of Monday (25/04), registrants for the MOTIS program have reached 2,524 participants, and there are still 6,756 MOTIS transportation quotas that can still be ordered," he explained. In this case, Zulfikri invites the public to be able to take advantage of the quota that is still available and not to force themselves to use two-wheeled vehicles for long-distance travel.

Zulfikri added that this year the MOTIS program will serve North and South traffic with 11 service stations, namely Jakarta Gudang Station, Cirebon Prujakan Station, Purwokerto Station, Kroya Station, Kutoarjo Station, Lempuyangan Station, Klaten Station, Purwosari Station, Tegal Station, Pekalongan Station, and Semarang Tawang Station.

With a large-quota of MOTIS availability, Zulfikri invites the public to immediately register in order to carry out homecoming faster by using this MOTIS transportation. "Moreover, there are 13,800 seats that have been specifically provided for MOTIS transportation participants and can be used by people who have run out of regular tickets," he added. The available seat quotas for MOTIS participants include the trains connecting Pasar Senen - Semarang Tawang (pp) and Pasar Senen - Purwosari (pp).

At the end of his speech, Zulfikri expressed his appreciation to all parties involved in implementing MOTIS transportation. "For the passengers and MOTIS participants, we wish you good luck and a safe journey to your destination," he concluded. (HJA)
