MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION REVIEWS GENOSE SERVICES AT BANDUNG STATION

Bandung -Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi reviewed the service for the Covid-19 detection tool made by the nation's children "GeNose" at the Bandung Train Station (KA) on Friday (19/2). The application of GeNose at Bandung Train Station as one of the conditions for traveling by long-distance trains has been implemented since February 15, 2021.

"This is the second phase of GeNose we are doing. The first phase is in Jakarta and Yogyakarta and now there are additions in 5 more cities, namely Bandung, Cirebon, Semarang, Surabaya and Solo," said the Minister of Transportation.

To date, there are 8 train stations that provide Covid-19 screening services through GeNose. The Minister of Transportation explained that in the future there will be more and more train stations that will use the GeNose tool.

“I hope that within this week, GeNose services will be available in 20 other cities. And it will increase to 44 other cities in less than a month," said the Minister of Transportation.

Furthermore, the Minister of Transportation appreciated the Indonesian Railways (PT. KAI) which has made a number of service improvements by providing insulation booths for prospective passengers who carry out the GeNose test so that they are not close to each other, as suggested by epidemiologists.

The Minister of Transportation also appreciated the enthusiasm of the community to use GeNose. From 15 February 2021 to today (5th day), there have been 1,514 train passengers who carried out the GeNose screening test at Bandung Station. (LNM/RDL/LA/JD)
